Zoo Trip

Today we went to the Como Zoo with my parents. We had never brought the girls there- they loved it. Animals everywhere! There are a few different kinds of animals at Como that are not at the Minnesota Zoo. For instance, they have zebras, giraffes and lions. Those were the girl's favorites. The sea lions were pretty cute, too. It was nice and cool today- yesterday was another story it was 80 degrees and humid. Yes, that was the day we decided to do the yard work. We had 10 yards of garden soil delivered this week (that's a lot of dirt!) so we spread it all over our yard and neighborhood. Giving it to anyone who could use it.

Quick, take a picture!

Our crab apple trees are blooming! It is one of our favorite times of the year. The flowers only last a few days before the wind knocks them off so tonight I had to get some pictures of the girls. Last year we missed out, hence the rush....enjoy!

Tickle Time

Tonight the girls were tickling each other like crazy- so cute! We are waiting to take their pictures with Matt Addington until next week. Annika's nose has been really running and it is turning red- not ideal for pictures. I just talked to my parents and they are coming down for the weekend, as well as Uncle Marc. The girls are excited!

Counting to 10

Today Annika counted to ten. "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, "H", 9, 10!" So we asked her what happened to the number 6- she responded by doing it exactly the same way. Funny! We are hoping to have Kate and Annika's two-year pictures taken on Wednesday on location with Matt Addington. We will be heading to Sogn Valley for the photo shoot. I will post some of the pictures and the link to all the rest of them once we are set.

Girl's Night Out

Tonight Jason had events at CMS, so the girls and I had a night out- well not really out on the town, but we spent the whole night playing outside. We first stopped at Culver's for a couple of strawberry shakes- which are the girls' favorites. Then onto swinging, throwing balls, driving our red cars and filling them up with gas (really water from the garden hose). We also dug out our chalk bucket and colored the driveway. Kate did the most coloring- drawing lines and curves all over the place. Then she decided to taste the chalk- gross! As you can tell from the pictures it didn't taste very good. Happy Friday!!! (It reached 79 degrees today, I think the warmer weather is here to stay- thank goodness!)

Our little peanuts

This afternoon we had Kate and Annika's two year old check-up. They both did really well. They are still little peanuts.....Kate weighs 25.6 pounds and Annika weighs 25 pounds. Annika is 33 1/4 inches tall and Kate is a little shorter at 33 inches tall. They are in the 25-50% all around...as I said, they are our little peanuts. Their favorite part of the whole visit was seeing the turtles and fish in the office aquarium. Annika kept saying, "Turtle time."

Happy Belated Birthday

This weekend we had a belated birthday celebration for the girls. Jason's mom and grandma came from Westbrook for a visit and brought along an angelfood cake. We put candles in and let the girls blow them out (which they did very well). They even tried the cake which was a surprise because neither of them like sweets. The girls loved their Sesame Street hats and plates. Friday night we were in New Prague and the weather was really nice. The girls love the little park by Chad and Jenny's house so we spent the evening there. They are real pros at the big twisty slide. Saturday it rained all day so the girls didn't get to play outside, but Jason ran in the cold at the New Prague Half Marathon. He finished with a personal best. Otherwise, we are counting the days down to summer- 18 more student days. Jason and I are really excited for summer break because we get to stay home and play with our two little sweeties every day.

Dress-up Time

The girls really love their dress-up bin. We had fun this last weekend at Jason's school, they had "The Sale of the Century" a mega rummage sale. We found play purses, skirts and lots of glittery, girly accessories. They even have two pairs of plastic high heels. What fun!
