A Visit from Grandma and Grandpa

Last weekend my parents came down from Two Harbors. The day that they drove down we got another 4-5 inches of snow. Nice! So the girls headed outside to help daddy and grandpa shovel the driveway. They have their own little shovels and rakes that they try and use. Most of the time they end up making a little bit of a mess that daddy has to clean up afterwards.

Kate and her shades! Annika all bundled up for another Minnesota snow storm.

Later in the day the girls and Grandma had some silly time with our dress-up bin. They dug out our "reading" glasses. They wanted to be just like Grandma. Sometimes they would even chew on the ends- just like Grandma or hang them from their tee shirts- just like Grandpa. For Grandma's birthday we sent her pink roses and a Dora birthday balloon, because the girls LOVE Dora and because we couldn't make it up north due to the flu sickies. Well, Grandma brought the balloon down so the girls could play with it. We had the timer going all afternoon so they would remember to take turns. Annika would dance around the living room and twirl like crazy. Some simple pleasures from a pretty silly balloon.

Funny Face!

Annika has been into making funny faces lately. Instead of me saying... "Say cheese!" she wants me to say...."Say hotdog!" What a goofy little girl!

Winter Fun

These last few weeks we have had some warmer days...a little tease and taste of the coming of spring. But alas, winter is still here! In fact it snowed even more last night- will it ever end? Luckily the girls still enjoy their time outside in the snow. Two weekends ago we were sledding in the backyard and the girls wanted to slide into our garden where there is a a big bump for them to fly over. The giggled like crazy and wanted to do it over and over again. Hopefully they will be feeling better by this weekend so we can enjoy some fresh air.

Thank you!

Thank you everyone for all of the thoughts and prayers these last few days. I am happy to say that both Kate and Annika are nearly recovered from the stomach flu, fevers and colds. They both had a great night of sleep last night and are currently eating a little bit and drinking liquids without any troubles. In fact they have been playing all morning- including a fort with all of our couch cushions, pillows, blankets and stuffed animals. Thanks again for all of your prayers.

Prayers for Annika

Well it seems that once one child is over a sickness the other will get it. Today I stayed home with Kate- her temperature was still border-line feverish and she got sick again last night before tubby time. We had a quiet day watching movies and reading books. Annika was fine and so she went to daycare. Needless to say it was very quiet in the house today- hehe! So now that Kate is nearly 100%, Annika came home from daycare and within a half hour was throwing up and running a fever. Super fun! Especially when I am pretending to be a single parent in the evenings with Jason reffing basketball games around the metro area. So please pray for Annika. We were planning on spending the long weekend in Two Harbors, MN with Grandma and Grandpa Cloutier- but we called them tonight and canceled our getaway. They will be here in Lakeville next weekend and hopefully we will be completely recovered from the sickies! Thanks to everyone for their thoughts and prayers. God bless!

Prayers for Kate

Please keep Kate in your prayers. This morning she woke up with a 103 fever and had gotten sick in the middle of the night without anyone knowing. I feel like a terrible mother. She is home resting and watching lots of Dora and Diego movies and getting lots of love from momma and daddy.

Sisters!

I just thought I would share a new picture of Kate and Annika. The last few days I have been thanking our Lord for two beautiful, healthy, loving little girls. Remember to cherish every moment! God bless!
