Now that it's August.....

Hi everyone. Sorry it has been a while. We spent the last two weeks with Grandma Cloutier and we had so much fun- we forgot to post anything. First we were at the cabin on Agate Lake and then Grandma came to stay for a week while Grandpa went fishing in Canada. We had lots of little shopping trips to Target...we love those! Then Jason went to Chicago for a conference so we went back up north to Two Harbors again for a quick little vacation and got to see my Aunt Dixie from Ohio. She hadn't seen the girls since they were three months old. Needless to say, they have changed a bit! Now we are home for the rest of summer. Jason is back at work, but he is finding it hard to concentrate since it really is still summer. It doesn't help that the girls and I are home having fun. Starting this week the girls are going back to Kati's (our daycare provider) for a couple play dates. Then next week while I am testing first graders at school Grandma Bakke is coming to watch the girls for the WHOLE week. Kate and Annika will love that. We haven't seen Grandma Bakke since June...that's too long!!! Squeeze in the State Fair and another weekend with Grandma and Grandpa Cloutier then the last week of August is back to work full-time for me and back to daycare full-time for the girls. School starts on Tuesday September 2nd! We can hardly believe that another summer is almost over- yikes! Time sure flies when you are having fun! This picture is of the girls in Two Harbors over the Fourth of July- I forgot to post it earlier. Enjoy!

Agate Lake Vacation

We returned on Saturday from a week at Agate Lake. It was awesome! I love just sitting and listening to the lake, dipping my toes in, getting some sun and watching the girls have a GREAT time playing in the water and sand. My brother Marc spend the whole week with us- which is a first.....he actually enjoyed a week's vacation. Good for you Marc!!! We are back in Lakeville now trying to stay cool. Summer's heat and humidity are here to stay, at least for this week. That is why I love air conditioning!!! Ahhhhh....... You can view more pictures from our week at Agate Lake on our Facebook page.... Enjoy!

Rainy Day Fun

A few days ago the girls and I spent the whole day inside- it was raining and thunderstorming. So we dug out their little pop up tent and did puzzles. It's not the same as running around outside, but they enjoyed it just the same. We are excited because today we are heading north to Agate Lake near Deerwood, MN. We rent a cabin there and the girls can hardly wait to get "to the cabin". Annika was determined that last night we were leaving. She actually had a little meltdown and started crying, "Go to the cabin.....car ride.....now.....". I think they both will be VERY happy to get there and see Uncle Marc and Grandma and Grandpa. We will enjoy lots of swimming, more swimming, feeding the fishies, looking for frogs and quiet afternoons in the adirondack chairs looking at the lake (while the girls are napping, of course...) I will post pictures when we get back. Off we go for some relaxation and sun.....

Summer is in full swing.....

The whole family is now enjoying summer vacation! As of the fourth of July we have been busy traveling up north, doing home improvement projects and getting ready to head to our cabin rental on Agate Lake. Who knew how fast summer could actually go! As far of the home improvement projects.... two new ceiling fans, new blinds in our bedroom (finally!) and some new decorating of course, have kept us busy. Jason was growing especially frustrated yesterday with the girl's ceiling fan. He said out loud, "I am SO MAD!" Then the funniest thing happened, Annika looked up at him and said, "No mad daddy, daddy happy!" How can you not smile and laugh at such a cute little girl saying that! Jason did get to relax after the ceiling fan fun.... in front of his new flat screen TV. Yes, he finally broke down and bought one. Starting tomorrow, with the help of our cable guy, he will be watching the British Open this weekend in HD! Aren't you so excited??????

New Family Pictures

Yesterday we went to Matt and Leah Addington's place in Sogn Valley, MN. It is absolutely beautiful there- rolling hills and forests. A great background for our latest family pictures. All of the pictures are located on Matt's website- http://www.mattaddington.com/ under the catagory of Families. The girls had fun- they love being out on the farm. Annika was a little too serious when we started, which is so funny because she is a goofy little girl. I think we got some great candids! We are so fortunate to know Matt as a friend and fabulous photographer! I would just like to know when it is possible for two little girls to smile for the camera, when asked.....oh well.

Girls Day Out

Today the girls and I had the whole day to ourselves. They are finally feeling good- thank goodness! We went to the zoo, had a picnic lunch from McDonald's, took a three hour nap, went shopping at Target and played in our "fort" and sandbox. What a day! Jason spent the day with Chad and Jenny at the Women's LPGA Open Championship first round in Edina- they were just as tired as us. What fun!

Relaxing.....

After last week's family visits and travels to and from SW Minnesota, it is nice to be home and relaxing. The girls haven't felt well the last few days, so we are taking it easy. We are taking the girls two year pictures on Friday morning with Matt Addington in Sogn Valley. It will be fun, cross your fingers that no major cuts, bumps or bruises happen between now and then. I will post some of the pictures as soon as I can. Here is a picture of the cousins- Annika, Brayden, Brooke and Kate.
